In a Sea of Stilted Windows
The imaginary worlds of three different characters harbour the residue of patriarchal fantasies. In the real world, these three people share a waiting room, while absorbed in consuming their private media. When a hooded figure enters, wearing a mirror for a mask, our three people are forced to examine themselves through interaction with an other. The third and final act of the film returns to the imaginations of the three characters, where they shake themselves out of their solipsistic fantasies, into a greater sense of human equality.

Úna O'Sullivan is an Irish filmmaker and editor who graduated from the University of Oxford in 2019. In her first year studying English Literature, she worked as a runner on several student films, and a few months later began directing her own short films - 'This' for The Isis Magazine, 'Vanitas' and 'I Used to Never' for the then-newly-established We're Making a Film Productions. During her time at Oxford, she worked on many sets in various capacities, including production designer, sound recordist, and cinematographer. As director, she has done a number of music videos, documentaries, and works of fiction. These include directing and editing a documentary about Serbian folk music, titled 'Everyone Listens to Turbo Folk', and another called 'Outsiders: the Parkfield Situation', on last year's clash between some Muslim parents in Birmingham and the LGBT curriculum in primary schools. Her most recent works as writer-director are two episodes of the web series, Dorian, a short film, 'Timewashing', and a feature film, Humming Drums, which is due to premiere this May.
She currently works as a documentary and music video editor on a freelance basis.
