In The Shadow Of My Memories
Emir is sleeping at his girlfriend Seren's house. Seren wakes
Emir up and tells him that she is going to the hairdresser.
Emir does not want to be alone because he was kidnapped in the
past. He tries to convince Seren to stay with him, but he
fails. Shortly after Seren leaves the house, Seren's neighbor
Eren appears at the door. Emir remembers the voice of Eren.
Eren is the person who kidnapped Emir in the past. Emir waits
for Seren in fear. Seren comes back after a while. But Eren
never acts suspicious. Seren tells Emir that he was not
kidnapped, that they were all in his head, that he had
suspected others before, and that they could no longer see
them. The reason they couldn't see them is that Emir himself
kidnaps the people he thinks kidnapped him. And his last
victim is his neighbor Eren.

Honorable Mention
I entered Kocaeli University in 2017. I'm studying radio, television and cinema. I made short films to improve myself in school. Last year, I shot and edited commercials in an advertising agency. With my desire to make a movie, I allocated a certain budget and shot the movie In The Shadow Of My Memories.
I created my film with the feelings and questions of a health problem I have experienced. During my twenty days in the hospital, I felt stuck, pathetic and needy. These feelings made me ask questions. Is man really alone in everything he experiences? Can't he understand the pain of a person, even if he is the closest? Is man himself the source of his own suffering? Can't people who don't have a single step to walk forward take a step back again? Does the feeling of being cornered go away? Can you show that you are not needy even though you are in need? Did I really experience these? When I was lost in these and similar questions, seeing that man is a creature that can wear out so easily, inwardly scared me as much as it surprised me. Each person can fall into these situations in a different way. Is there a way out of this situation? I don't think so. So what does this impasse mean in itself? Is this dead end real? If so, how much is real? Even if I can't get answers to these questions, I know this. Man is alone, and pain only kneels those who feel it. I created my movie using these subtexts.
