In The Booth

In The Booth is the story of a Spanish/Cuban/American actress and voice-over artist who looks like she’s from the Midwest and struggles to find her identity in the ever-changing entertainment industry.

Think Black-ish and Master of None meets The Mary Tyler Moore Show as a podcast.

While Black-ish is a show about defining what it’s like to be African-American in an evolving world, it’s also a family comedy that deals with love, awkward teenage years and marriage. Much in the same way, In The Booth is about all types of culturally diverse people trying to live their lives, but it’s also about misunderstandings, assumptions, and the way we walk through life being one person on the inside while being forced to be another on the outside. It’s also about trying to get a break into a diversity-driven entertainment industry, but like, you know, it’s a comedy so with some a lot of laughs thrown in.

This half-hour episodic comedy podcast will explore what it’s like to be culturally diverse whether you look like it or not. It’s about what people expect from you because of your appearance and the judgments that come along with what you sound like. Also, it’s called In The Booth because in the voice-over booth no one knows what you look like or who you are.
