Director Statement

I grew up and got married in a Hasidic community that practices strict sexual self-denial and imposes an extensive set of rules that dictate the intimate behaviors allowed between a husband and wife.

As a young, naive couple, my husband and I didn't have a model for a relationship that incorporates intimacy and the expression of affection. Still, every step we took toward each other had tremendous meaning and importance.

My starting point, what I have been through and my progression to today allow me to tell this narrative authentically, courageously and lovingly. My ability to bring this story to light creates great meaning in my life.
