In Search of Lost Time
Ayşe (a woman in her 70s) was born into a wealthy family and at an early age felt the depth of the young Turkish Republic's tendencies between tradition, future and the practice of life. While she was closely associated with literature, poetry, and cinema in her youth, the transformation of this competence into a search for meaning in her intellectual life dragged Ayşe into delusions and breakdowns that were difficult to shake off. Ayşe who reached the age of seventy and moved herself to a calmer and more mature state came out of these breakdowns with the help of her husband, who passed away some time ago.
One morning, in the forenoon, she wakes up feeling as if something strange has happened to her. It's as if her mind is preoccupied with the memories she's trying to forget. She finds her room looks strange to the ordinary, and a state of doubt begins to creep into her soul with some anxiety and curiosity, she wants to share this strange situation with an old friend. Holds the phone and calls several times but fails to reach him. And at dawn, she sets out on a journey to find him.
She tries to find out his whereabouts by asking his old friends and the places he used to go to, but she finds no answer to guide her. People are preoccupied with their own problems and concerns, and the places are no longer the same as before, they are full of foreigners. During her journey in search of him, she encounters a five or six-year-old girl in a deserted street.
Ayşe refuses to leave the little girl alone as she tries to warm herself with a thin blanket, in this desolate place where everything is in ruins and the road ads of gentrification are flying around. Ayşe, who will establish a bond with the Little Girl, will go on an unexpected journey with the girl while pursuing the cure for her problem. It is a film that narrates the last 3 days of Ayşe's life, who did not realize that she would encounter many moments from her past on this journey.

Years ago, in an interview, I asked a well-known director of the country, what it means to be an artist in a society that has neither been Western enough nor remained Eastern enough. In a way, I'm still swimming in the same issue. "We have established the character of “Ayşe” as someone who can try to understand existence-absence, tradition-modernity, past-future, countless possibilities, thought-impossibility and sharpness without choosing one of them but trying to live beyond them. And next to this character, we gave her a question she never thought to ask herself (The Little Girl) and took her on a journey.
This will be a journey between Ayşe and the friend she wants to reach, like the story of the birds going to “Mountain Kaf” in search of their Sultan, where coincidences turn into reminiscences and setbacks into oddities. In other words, Ayşe's Life Adventure.
