Secluded in a cabin in the woods, an aspiring writer struggles to complete his first work. To his surprise, he sees a man out on the lake he’s supposed to have to himself. When the two meet, their perspectives on artistic expression clash.

Director Biography - Daniel Aronskind

Daniel Aronskind is a photographer and filmmaker. He is based in the East Village in New York City and grew up in Millburn, New Jersey, and has spent most of his life visiting the Berkshires throughout the year. These locations are a core part of Daniel's upbringing and have continued to inspire and provide a sense of community he hopes to give back to in his projects.

While not formally educated in the arts, he continues to pursue his enjoyment in filmmaking, writing, and photography.

Director Statement

I am honored to be able to present In Ruins for your consideration. This project was shot locally in the Berkshires and New York City using a nonexistent budget through the trying years that were 2020/2021. In Ruins premiered in June 2022 at the Berkshire International Film Festival and has been selected by five film festivals and received six nominations, including Outstanding Styling, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Sound, and Best Supporting Actor.
