Federico Chiesa, is an Italian artist know for his ambient soundscapes and music under the name Oora. Beginning as a photographer focused on landscapes his work is moody and at times grim. Chiesa's interest is in the spontaneous and unpredictable, both in music and imagery.
Candace Janée is an actress and visual artist. A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York, Janée works on productions as co-writer, creative developer and actor. Her most notable film being Limbus, shown at Dances With Films in L.A, and the Boston Underground Film Festival. As a visual artist, under the name J/Née, her interest is in the minimal.
Together J/Née and Oora perform purely improvised sets. Oora using analogue synthesizers and J/Née using a video synthesizer. The focus of both is to complement each others work organically, not to distract. This is their first collaboration in film.
This film was an improvised and experimental piece produced during a stay in Maine and inspired Oora's recent album titled by the same name, In Darkness. The album is a continuation of the film; an imaginary soundtrack of a horror story.
