IN BETWEEN DAYS
Set in Baltimore, 1985, a bi-racial teenager struggles to find his identity. Raised by his Jewish mother, he feels somewhat of an outcast at his all-black high school. His one saving grace is music, which allows him to transcend any/all social barriers and get the girl of his dreams. But when his grades suffer because of his love of music, his mother takes away the one thing that seems to be holding him together. Can he stay true to his identity without sacrificing everything he truly loves?

As a writer, I'm primarily interested in character. I've never been a big fan of "Hollywood" plot driven narrative film and have at times struggled to conform my writing to its format. IN BETWEEN DAYS, is based somewhat on my childhood, growing up in Baltimore. The experiences of the lead character is familiar to me - from the challenges of conforming to established racial and social identities, to his passion for music. As society focuses more on diversity and the representation of certain groups of people, I want to highlight the fact that many of us do not fit neatly into categories and it is in that space, my story takes place.
