Director Statement

We shot this film during the first phase of quarantine this year of April 2020 on the Big Island of Hawaii where we live and had to follow the six feet of separation rules that were set in place. Our first challenge was that we had very limited access to proper film equipment. We shot this film short on my iPhone 7. My husband Richard Brown shot the cinema photography. I was the actor while also helping to direct my husband who had never experienced working on a film until that moment. I did the voice over using my iPhone 7 voice memo app. My husband and I, who are experienced divers went diving during the 72 hours time challenge rules and shot the underwater photography as well. We sent the scenes to our editor on the mainland and we were instructed to shoot the swing scene over again. We did! (all the while hoping that the Tradewinds would not kick up, that the weather and the ocean would co operate as we only had 72 hours until completion per the rules set my the film challenge. I recorded the voice over in my car sweating my butt off in the intense Island heat. We then sent the scenes shot and the voice over our editor and co producer Jay Lee who lives on the mainland in Arizona. We were communicating with him by phone the entire time while the 72hour clock was ticking during the filming process as we were producing the film on the spot and writing it on the spot and shooting it on the spot. We were met with so many limitations. We overcame each and everyone of them!!!! I am hopeful that our tiny little film will inspire others to overcome any adversity that life puts in their pathway.
Mahalo for any consideration that you may have of our film!
Lastly, the artwork that you will see at the very end of this film for the credits was created by my 6 year old grandson.
I communicated to him what I wanted and he created exactly what I asked for!
We will continue to use our Imoceanation for making all our dreams come true!
