Imagination
A young man jolts awake as his alarm blares through the silence. Groggy yet unsettled, his eyes adjust to the dim light—only to land on a shadowy figure lurking in the corner of his room. Its shape is unclear, its presence unnerving. Is it an intruder? A trick of the mind? As his paranoia takes hold, reality blurs, and fear tightens its grip. What he sees—or thinks he sees—may be far more terrifying than he ever imagined.

Born and raised in the close-knit community of Cataboo, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Kristoff Myers discovered his passion for acting and filmmaking at the young age of ten. With an innate love for storytelling, he honed his craft through school productions at Black River High, local church plays, and regional drama competitions, refining his skills and deepening his artistic vision.
Determined to break away from the conventional narratives of Jamaican cinema, Kristoff aspires to push the boundaries of storytelling, bringing bold, cinematic experiences to life. His vision extends beyond the island’s traditional film landscape—he seeks to craft grander narratives, explore uncharted creative directions, and set new benchmarks for Jamaican filmmaking. With relentless ambition and a fearless approach to storytelling, Kristoff aims to not only elevate the standards of his country’s film industry but also make a lasting impact on the global stage.
This short film taps into a universal experience—waking up in the middle of the night and spotting an eerie shape in the shadows, uncertain if it's just your imagination or something more. It’s a moment of fear we've all encountered, where paranoia takes hold, and the mind begins to play tricks on us. That unsettling feeling was my inspiration.
As someone who has personally experienced this creeping dread, I wanted to craft a film that captures that exact moment—the split-second where fear and reality blur. This being my first film, I focused on creating a story that was within my resources yet powerful enough to leave an impact. By keeping the production simple but intentional, I aimed to prove that suspense and tension don’t require elaborate setups—just the right atmosphere and a well-executed idea.
This project is more than just a short film; it’s a testament to my passion for filmmaking and my commitment to telling engaging, relatable stories.
