I'm So Newark in partnership with Express Newark, the Newark International Film Festival, and NYC Filmmakers presents the 2nd quarterly Short Film Contest hosted in the newly developed Hahnes Building in Express Newark. I'm So Newark is a non-profit media organization dedicated to, spreading positive images of Newark and it's surrounding communities, and the ART of story telling. The short film categories include Narratives, Documentaries, Narrative Music Videos , and Animations. There will be a cash prize of $200, and I'm So Newark Film Award. To the winner. Allowing you to network with like-minded individuals with the same passions and versatile film-making abilities. Furthermore it's a way to promote positive images and change around Newark New Jersey.
Awards & Prizes
1. First place winners get a "cash" prize of $200, and the I'm So Newark Film Award. Also free pass to the Newark International Film Festival 2018.
2. Second place winners get an I'm So Newark Film Award, and an I'm So Newark t-shirt.
3. Third place winner gets I'm So Newark swag.
Rules & Terms
A film that is 2-12 minutes long. Ten short films will be selected from all of the submissions. The selected films will screen January 18, 630pm screening, at Express Newark 54 Halsey St Newark, NJ. This screening is free to the public so invite all of your friends and family, but you MUST register to attend. From the 10 films selected, a Third, Second, and First place winner will be selected as winners, after screenings. FYI Hannibal Goodwin invented celluloid film in Newark NJ. It is truly the Birth Place of Film.
