I'm Going Mad

"I'm Going Mad" sheds light on the prevalent mental illness experienced by young male adults with diverse backgrounds residing in the marginalized neighborhoods of Stockholm. This thought-provoking exploration delves into the complexities of coping with one's mental well-being amidst an environment plagued by gun violence, pervasive depression, drugs, crime and strained police relations, all while striving for a semblance of normalcy in daily life.

Director Biography - Matez Garci

Meet Matez Garci, an innovative actor and filmmaker from Botkyrka, Stockholm, with Tunisian heritage. As the first Arab graduate of Calle Flygares Theatre School, he has made significant strides in the Swedish film and TV industry. Beyond his acting success, Matez has expanded into filmmaking, demonstrating his talent as a scriptwriter and director. His debut short film, Jag börjar bli delli (I'm Going Mad), is set to premiere in the summer of 2024.

What I want to achieve with this film is to convey a message to men, particularly those who resemble me. I aim to emphasize that. Talking about how you feel, Working on your emotions and asking for help, does not make you any less of a man. As a matter of fact, it makes you more manly than you ever thought you could be because it makes you human!
