Ilya Belostotsky was born 28.08.1973 in the city of Chelyabinsk (Urals, Russia) in the family of a doctor (mother) and economist (father). In 1991 he attended to the Medical Academy, where studied medicine for 4 years. In 1995 has initiated transfer to local College of Arts where he studied directing for 4 years. Worked on TV, where created a lot of children programs. In 2004 graduated from VGIK (leading Russian film school). Ilya Belostotsky supposes film-making for kids and youth being his primary mission. More than 10 years he directs “Eralash” – most popular Russian children’s sketchcom series, and produces his own projects as well, some of which where awarded by prizes of national and international film festivals. Ilya Belostotsky is long-itme member of Directors Guild of Russia.
