Kevin Slappey is an award winning filmmaker from DeLand Florida, now living in Allentown Pennsylvania. Kevin has always loved movies, but he really developed a fascination with film in high school, after seeing arthouse films such as George Sluizer’s The Vanishing and Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove. Kevin then took a TV Production class in high school where he learned to shoot and edit video. This led him to pursue a career as a video editor, which brought him to be a Film Major at DeSales University. Eventually the dream changed, and Kevin now seeks to be a writer/director. His biggest influences today are works from central Europe, particularly the Czech New Wave of the 60s-70s. These days Kevin is writing screenplays and shooting mostly experimental film, and he can be found at the DeSales University Film Club, which Kevin has ran for the last 3 semesters.
