Illinifest Student Film Festival is a celebration of student short-filmmaking, produced and curated by students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Our mission is to create a platform for diverse voices in filmmaking across campus and expose our campus and community audience to the creative imagination of their fellow students. We are accepting films from UIUC filmmakers this year: films produced by student organizations like Illini Film and Video, Photon Pictures and the growing number of Media and Cinema Studies production classes. We look forward to the variety of films that will appear in both categories.

We are hosting the event without a competition this year.

my film won two awards at the 2018 festival and I was told I didn't have to be in attendance to accept my awards. The organizers didn't reach out after the festival had finished to send my awards to me and when I reached out to them I received no response

I couldn't attend, but communications during selection and preparation period was brilliant. Wish them success in conducting new editions.

  • I've had films at Illinifest for the past three years but was only able to attend in 2016. My experience at the festival was positive and I was impressed with the overall quality of work. I found the panel discussions held between screenings to be very relevant and helpful for new filmmakers. I wish more universities held events like Illinifest.
