Experiencing Interruptions?

Il Treno

A three days-long journey into a modern suburb of Bologna, particularly focusing on the so-called "Train", a huge popular flat from the late 1950s. An abstract ethnography with no words or music but the multi-layered sounds of the district (following the footsteps of composer Luigi Russolo), based on a deep field research and inspired by the "urban symphonies" by directors like Walter Ruttmann, Dziga Vertov and Joris Ivens (but with references also to the work of artists as different as Ermanno Olmi, Franco Piavoli, Cecilia Mangini, Chris Marker and Frederic Wiseman).
