After their marriage, Wang Zifu and Yingning lead a peaceful life. However, Yingning’s presence gradually becomes ethereal, and she grows increasingly melancholic. One day, she departs silently, leaving no trace.
Wang Zifu embarks on a relentless search and eventually finds Yingning outside a dilapidated temple. She explains the reasons for her departure. Stunned, Wang Zifu remains silent, unable to persuade her to stay.
Yingning vanishes into the mountains, leaving behind a branch of her favorite plum blossom. Wang Zifu stands in the wind, reminiscing about their joyous times. He picks up the plum blossom, feeling as if it were all a fleeting dream.
