I had a weird dream

Alain Gr-Polanco believes that art opens dialogue and helps connect communities and expands empathy through shared emotions. Alain is an Afro-Latino who grew up in Washington Heights eating platanos and discovering the blatant contradictions in the perception vs the reality of their community. Their work strives to present complex topics, such as masculinity, identity, and culture, infused with a sense of child-like playfulness and joyful color. They graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television, so you know they're legit. Their main focus is photography and filmmaking, but they have been known to experiment in other mediums, both physical and digital.
