Léo Malek (b. 1990) Léo Malek is a photographer and filmmaker based in Brussels. Focusing on people and places, his films are often portrayals of circumstantial marginality, happenstance, or precarity within the everyday ordinary. His chosen analog medium and preference for hand developing the film himself, come from a longstanding deep appreciation for the tactile and time sensitive process that it requires, and whose existential fragility reflects that of the subjects and influences his practice. He graduated from the cinematography department at INSAS in 2018.
