This is Shaun Dunne's second film collaboration with the Ark and his first film piece made through Irish. It was developed and created in collaboration with past and present pupils from Gaeilscoil Coláiste Mhuire.

Director Biography - Shaun Dunne

Shaun Dunne is a Dublin-based film and theatre-artist.

He works primarily with Talking Shop Ensemble and their work to date includes the multi-award winning theatre projects Death of the Tradesmen, Advocacy, and Making a Mark. Other recent work includes RAPIDS at Dublin Theatre Festival, 2017 and The Waste Ground Party at The Abbey Theatre.

In 2019, Shaun premiered his first short film, The First was a Boy at Dublin International Film Festival. Here, it was awarded the Judge’s Special Mention for Irish Short. It later screened at Cork Film Festival where it received the Honorable Mention for The Grand Prix Documentary Short Award.

In 2020, Shaun will present a new play, "Restoration", in the Space Upstairs at Project Arts Centre. Written by Shaun, this new work will be directed by Darren Thornton (A Date for Mad Mary). Shaun will then later present an Irish-language adaptation of Carmen at The Abbey Theatre with OneTwoOneTwo called Eist Liom. Following this, Shaun will head into pre-production on a feature-length film adaptation of RAPIDS with Invisible Thread Productions.

Over the years, Shaun has also worked extensively as an actor. In 2020, he can be seen in BEARDS directed by David Freyne and recently played the role of RYAN in TREASURE’s Headcases.

Shaun is an artist in residence at The Ark and Project Arts Centre. He is currently in post-production on his second film, “Past Pupil” for The Ark.
