IUDemon

Director Statement

When I began writing this script, I could not have foreseen that Roe V. Wade would be overturned by the Supreme Court. It was while writing and going into pre-production that we all caught wind of the rumors and the ultimate decision to fail to recognize women's rights to bodily autonomy on a national level. It was then that my film began to take shape as I grieved for all of the women and young girls that now do not have access to safe and secure abortions. My protagonist decides to get an IUD as a preventative measure but soon finds out that it is incompatible with her body. What it all boils down to is that this legislation has forced people into unprecedented circumstances to make impossible choices.
