ISLAND
On a quiet island, where a man who lives by himself receives a call —his father is gone. The very reasons that led him to solitude now chain him there, keeping him from the farewell. Yet that night, a tide of emotions sweeps across his island, washing over him like the waves.

Born and raised in Thiroor, a charming little village on the outskirts of Thrissur town, Kerala, I did what every good student does—I pursued engineering in electronics and communication. But soon enough, I found myself staring at circuits and wires, realizing this wasn’t my circus, and definitely not my monkeys. Always captivated by storytelling and the magic of world-building, I finally dipped my toes into the creative pond and—wow! The ecstasy of creation hit me like a caffeine high. From that day on, I knew there was no turning back; I was hooked on the magical path of storytelling.
Losing my elder cousin during the pandemic was a blow I never saw coming. He was working abroad, and because of security issues, our family couldn’t even bring his body back home. The thought of the loneliness and fear he must have faced in those final moments haunted me deeply. I couldn’t shake it off.
One day, I stumbled upon a story about a guy living alone in a house. He’d close a window at night, only to find it mysteriously open again the next morning. It happened day after day, and somehow, I got stuck on that window too. It felt like that window was a glimpse into my own feelings—open, closed, open again, never really shut. It was through that window that I finally landed on the story I needed to tell.
