Xueying Pei is an illustrator and animator. She was born in China and studied BA animation at Wuhan University of Technology. After graduation, she moved to London and is studying for a master's degree in animation at University of the Arts London.
She focuses on 2D animation while exploring the possibilities of experimental animation and other media. Most of the works are based on rich colour changes or character deformation and constantly draws inspiration from the abstract works of different colours and textures. Her works are exhibited in many places.
Yixue Cui is an 2D animator from China. She is doing her MA in Animation at the London college of communication.
This animation uses different ways to show people's attitude towards the boring life during the lockdown. The crawling image in animation is the soul of people who are limited in a cube. At the beginning of the film, we use collage to show people's real boring life at home in the quarantine. In the second part, we shot a continuous sequence of newspapers and cardboard, which shows that everyone wants to escape from this state of life. After that, the stop motion animation of stickers shows that people dare to collide with this kind of situation, and we chose 52 places to show this colorful world. Finally, the part of projection returns to the real soul, and also returns to real life. In this project, we try our best to integrate the animation produced by different methods.
