I'M FINE is my directing debut in the narrative short form world. Born in the South West of England, Devon, where cinematography is part of growing up, I had the chance to express my weird ideas in a comprehensive way, starting with my parents… Eventually, making my way to London to study at the MET Film School, and begin professional work. This year I’ve been working for Universal Music (UMG) in the international content team, previously as a lighting cameraman and now as a director.
This film has appealed to me, and stuck with me for such an extensive time, I’ve been through so many different mindsets. Yet, I have always connected with the emotions in this film all too well. I wanted to let everyone experience the same feelings. Both those who can relate, and those that can’t and to express a part of a story that I think always gets overlooked in movies, the true struggles before success. The idea that this film can make just one person feel something, on a deep level, completely liberates me. I wanted to make something that can be watched more than once, something an audience can come back to and discover more details, and slowly over time reach a personal unique connection with the film.
I hope this story has the opportunity to say something to so many different people, in all different walks of life, and not just hopefully motivated people to keep running toward their dreams, but also to contemplate the beautiful realities of life’s ups and downs.
