I Love My VCR
It’s a typical Saturday night in a Texas town in the late 80’s and 90’s. Minivans full of kids are pulling up to their local blockbuster to rent the weekends entertainment. Rows of beautiful VHS box art greet them as they make their selection. They’re excited to head home for a late-night sleepover watching scary movies. Some of my fondest memories are connected to VHS tapes, and for Jessie Hobson, the Saturday night tape hunt never ended.

Over 12 years of experience in video production for corporate and higher education industries. Native Texan and documentarian of life around me. Currently working toward my Masters of Fine Arts degree and working on projects that pique my own personal interest.
VHS tapes hold a special spot in my heart. Trips to video store happened almost every weekend during my formative years in the 90's. Jessie's passion for collecting VHS tapes inspired me to create a film that would preserve some of the iconic look of VHS tapes and the sounds VCR's make. Fulfilled a childhood goal of taking apart a VCR in the process as well.
