ILLUSIA
A Siberian puppet maker tells with his alive puppets stories about freedom, loneliness and love.
Vladimir Zakharov, a creator of living puppets has been charming the people of Siberia with his spectacular creations longer than 15 years. He came from Usbekistan to Tomsk to achieve his childhood dream. Back then he wanted to build robots. Till he died in February 2019, he created the world of his dreams. He felt lonely but at the same time this meant freedom to him.

Ramona Gastl is photographer, documentary filmmaker and storyteller. She has studied Photojournalism and documentary photography in Hannover, has given workshops on Multimedia Stories in Russia, Tomsk and has travelled the word with her short film ILLUSIA. While creating film screaning events she has also participated in a screen writing workshop with the Shanghai Filmschoool.
With ILLUSIA she did 20 film screenings in 12 countries so far. The award winning short film was part of the LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism in Hanover 2016 and won BEST FILM and BESTE REGIE at the International Robot Film Festival in Pisa, Italy. ILLUSIA will become a long film now.
