I HIT HARD INTO A STAR

This video work consists of three chapters, which are separated by the following titles: YOUR EYES, I DON'T RECOGNIZE YOU ANYMORE, ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE SKY ARE STARS. The transitions between chapters suggest an awakening, but not one that leads to reality, but to a new dream.

All three chapters are narratively connected. Trough the chapters you follow the protagonist walking a fine line between the real and the unreal, waking up again and again in a constant loop. Through the darkness, the flare, the long lights of cars, the flash of a flashlight, and highly saturated colors, this video shows visions from my hometown, as I see it in my dreams. The depiction of celestial bodies such as the stars and the moon symbolically indicate a view into the unknown, distant and intangible. The auditory landscape of this work consists of voice narration and music, as well as abstract sounds that contribute to the dreamlike atmosphere.

With this work, I want to take you for a walk. A walk where thought becomes reality, emotional states manifest in the form of monsters. A path through the dark, under the shadow of the subconscious. Along the way, I HIT HARD INTO A STAR.
