The Independent Filmmakers Guild of America and the AlohaStream Film Festival have merged events to celebrate award-winning filmmakers and content creators..

The annual Independent Filmmakers Guild of America Awards highlights award-worthy independent movies and celebrates them accordingly.

How to Qualify:

- Any project, any length, any genre.
- Your project must have won an award that we can verify (either on FilmFreeway or IMDB).
- Your project must have been released in the last two years of the current event.
- Your project must not have been previously entered in the Annual IFGA Awards.

The mission of the Independent Filmmakers Guild of America (IFGA) is to offer community, support, and resources for independent filmmakers and content creators at all experience levels. The membership of the IFGA represents a broad spectrum of independent contractors and freelancers in any area of the independent filmmaking industry. Whether you are a producer, director, writer, production assistant, actor, gaffer, casting agent, location scout, camera operator, or other member of the cast or crew, you are welcome to be a part of this widespread community of independent artists.

Awards & Prizes

We honor movies in a variety of ways as Official Selections, Finalists, and “Best of” in a variety of categories.

- Standard “Best of” categories are open to all entrants.
- Awards of Distinction and Excellence are only available to IFGA members.
- Award categories will vary from year to year at the discretion of the IFGA.
- All awards are final.

Rules & Terms

- The submitter must be directly involved (producer, director, screenwriter) with the project or legally authorized to represent the project submitted;

- Projects are only considered for the categories for which they are entered into;

- All commercial/private property including all trademark, copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. The IFGA and AlohaStream will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy-written materials;

- All submissions must be submitted via digital screener (Vimeo, FilmFreeway, other screening service; or for screenplays – PDFs only. We DO NOT accept physical submissions (DVD, Blu-Ray, printed scripts etc);

- Award categories are decided at the discretion of the IFGA and AlohaStream Film Festival and may be subject to change;

- All decisions are final;

- We do not accept pornographic material;

- We give all entries honest and thoughtful consideration;

- We do not guarantee any type of public exhibition or display of your movie, so your movie will still qualify as a premiere in any festival you choose to submit to;

- We are a digital, online screening event, without any in-person events.

    Hard to rate this festival. Although we received one email from them indicating that THE BARN had been selected, that was the only communication we have had with them. Of the other festivals we have submitted to, this was the only one that didn't provide us with a schedule of their festival screenings, awards etc, nothing about networking opportunities, and nothing about the winners and runners up. Bizarre!!
