Finally a Film Festival and Screenplay Competition that gives back to the community. We hold one of the only film festivals that not only acknowledges excellence in filmmaking but also supports families in need in the winning filmmakers hometown. Awards have gotten out of control with the most recent Academy Awards that handed out $160K swag bags to the richest of the rich. This makes absolutely no sense to us. There are so many in need and rewarding the already privileged and lucky seems to us to be outrageous.

Now you can make a difference, make your film fueled by passion and love, submit it to our festival and when you win so does a family in your community. The IFA will sponsor families in the winners community and reward them with a Christmas Wish Support Pack. The Christmas package will include everything the family needs to have a perfect Christmas. From presents to food on the table. Your excellence in filmmaking will make a difference in your community.

We also hand out the top winners awards in select categories. Winners will be presented with the coveted "Andy" award.

The IFA is a world wide organization dedicated to encouraging indie filmmaking around the globe. We are the one-stop shop for your independent filmmaker needs. The Alliance facilitates the exchange of information between filmmakers from around the world, serves as a resource center for filmmakers, organizes industry workshops and conferences, stimulates new projects through competitions, and engages in other such activities to move independent film production forward. The Alliance also sponsors a number of competitions for filmmakers, together with the Annual IFA Indy Film Awards, which honor the best in indie filmmaking. Here at IFA, we strive to keep you informed on what you need to know to make it in the industry, today. Let IFA help you actualize your dreams and make your independent films a success!

Select winners in each category will receive the coveted "Andy" award statuette. In addition select winners from certain categories will support a needy family in their community with a Christmas Wish Package that will include everything needed for that family to have a wonderful Christmas.

Your excellence in filmmaking and writing will make a difference in your community.

Terrible website. Received no notification. Discovered I was a finalist but only after a lot of digging.
