In the Mouth of Madness

Van Leeuwen is a feeble dentist who doesn't get respect from anyone. He has no authority over his patients, and his rebellious teenage daughter ridicules him at every turn. In the same town, there's Kowalski: a dignified and respectable dentist, who is fully embraced by the locals. A valuable asset to the community, a perfect representation of what the dentist profession is all about.

Van Leeuwen hates him. With every fibre of his being. When Van Leeuwen hears a rumor that his daughter is dating his archnemesis' son, he starts to lose grip on his reality. Doing everything he possibly can to thwart this unholy romance, he slowly starts to drift into his own madness.

Director Statement

With 'In the Mouth of Madness' I tried to encapsulate the elements that I most appreciate as an enthusiast of narrative films. Mainly: character-driven stories, underplayed humor, audiovisual communication, and just a pinch of kitsch.
