IDENTITY

Holi arrives just after the religious turmoil and on the backdrop of curfew. Sachin and Karim, both in 4th standard, want to play holi. Opposition from family members gives rise to various questions like 'who are we? What exactly is the difference between two of us?' They start questioning their existence. With their will to play holi together, they bring all their friends out of their homes. This struggle itself leads them to answers of questions they were asking about their existence.

Director Biography - Amar Bharat Deokar

Amar Deokar

M. Sc. (Video Production)
communication Studies from Savitribai Fule Pune University, Pune.
A passionate man about drama, dance, sketching and painting. He had completed his graduation from shivaji university, kolhapur, maharashtra (India).
After completion, he worked as an actor and as assistant director for some short films. 'Identity' is his debut short film as writer and director.

Director Statement

I am ' Amar Deokar'. 'Identity' is my first short film.
Human gradually loses their identity in compartmentalized livings as they grow. Retaining different lables and ideologies creates partition within people. Sachin and Karim two innocent souls ask questions to these dividing walls. 'Identity' is the chronicle of these two Hindu-Muslim friends.
