When I was young, exposure to a diverse variety of feature films--often shown to me by my older brother--cultivated in me an appreciation for the nuanced artistic expressions of film. I grew up making my own short films on my iPhone first before upgrading to my first DSLR. This further expanded my capability behind the camera, and having experience with photography at my community college allowed for a continual growth in this field of practice. I eventually studied film at the collegiate level once I moved to Oregon for a University. Upon graduating I continued to utilize my creativity and aesthetically driven visual storytelling as a filmmaker.
I recently won an award for my short film, Vairagya, at the 20th Annual Ashland Film Festival.
My films operate from an internal medium of emotional expression through visual representation. I want to share with others pieces of the world that I see through the stories I tell. Stories of beauty, unicity, and the intricate interdependence and connection through our experiences in life.
I draw heavy inspiration from some of my favorite filmmakers which include Terrence Malick, Paul Thomas Anderson, Andrei Tarkovsky, Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu, and the British filmmaker Steve McQueen.
