I Can't Give You Anything But Love: The Jimmy McHugh Story

An aspiring singer gives up his career to promote the music catalogue of his great grandfather, songwriter Jimmy McHugh, recorded by Frank Sinatra, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish. Licensing these songs for TV, movies, Broadway and commercials the singer journeys through the magic of his great-grandfather's career. He learns that McHugh fought racism promoting Duke Ellington and writing songs for the first all-black Broadway hit, BLACKBIRDS. McHugh also opposed sexism by hiring the female lyricist Dorothy Fields with whom he fell in love. He was nominated four times for an Oscar, with songs including "I'm in The Mood for Love" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street".

Director Biography - Susan Morgan Cooper

Susan Morgan Cooper is an award-winning director, producer and writer. Susan made the highly acclaimed An Unlikely Weapon about the Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, Eddie Adams, credited with helping end the Vietnam War. Her first documentary, Mirjana, was about a girl from Croatia displaced by the Balkan War. Susan went to China to film Mulberry Child about a Chinese American mother's struggle to overcome her childhood during Mao's Cultural Revolution. To The Moon and Back is her film about an ordinary American father entangled in the international politics of Bill Browder, the Magnitsky Act, and the Russian Adoption Ban. Most recently, the award-winning film Fatal Distraction chronicles the untold story of the high-profile Georgia murder trial of Justin Ross Harris following the death of his toddler son in the hot summer of 2014. The film has helped lead to Congress passing the HOT CARS Act and the Georgia Supreme Court overturning the main subject's life-in-prison sentence.
