Director Statement

IBD & Me is a passion project, stemming from one of my biggest inspirations in life. Since being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at only 12 years old, I have had to learn to live in a new way. Everything I do and everything I have become is, in part, influenced by this disability. It is both a hindrance and a motivation in my day to day. Interviews with my father and Lisa, who has become a close family friend and mentor, truly allowed me to reflect in a way I never had before. I often think about my own journey, but hearing the perspective of the adults in my life has helped me realize just how strong I am. My IBD is a part of me, but it is not me.
