I Am Miranda: Chains Chainsaws and The Cricket is a documentary style film in which criminologist Dr. Thomas Warren reviews the unseen murder footage caught by serial killers Leonard Lake, Charles Ng and their accomplice Claralyn "Cricket" Balazs. Despite the two men being caught and tried for their crimes (Leonard Lake committed suicide while in custody and Charles Ng is still serving life in prison) Cricket was able to get away scott-free with no convictions or legal repercussions for complying with the demands of the police during their investigation, despite playing a major role in the kidnapping of over 20 women. This fascinating unbalance of justice made it necessary to analyze the crimes and determine the workings going on in the remote cabin in the California mountains, where these murderers committed their crimes in the mid 1980s. The real life classified footage was extensively researched and reviewed during the production of this film to create accurate recreations in order to expose the truth about these killers. This film works to share the untold story of the victims who were found, but unidentified due to the severe damage to their bodies upon the investigation of the murders.
