I AM X21: A film on Down syndrome

George is an artist and something of a perfectionist who falls in love with the driven and delectable Adeola. Their romance takes them on a dizzying ride from an art gallery to a surprise engagement and into life as a new couple. They are both in their late thirties, and when their first child, Goke is born, they are distraught to learn that he has Down Syndrome. George and Deola are however determined to care for their precious son and help him reach his full potential, but George begins to get increasingly disheartened as time goes by. The couple have two more children and George starts to hide Goke from the world, much to Deola's dismay. George's aloofness and treatment of Goke who he considers to be an imperfect aspect of the perfection that their family could represent, becomes a sore point in the marriage. Deola struggles with guilt as she wonders if she is to blame for Goke's condition. With the love and support of friends and family family, as well as Deola's persistence, and Goke's own actions, George finally comes to realize that Goke is a precious and valid part of their family who deserves all the love and care that they can give.
