Freshman year of college he began working on film productions every other weekend, where he gained hands-on experience and built connections with fellow students. He also worked with the Midwest Emmy Awards as a social media photographer and for was able to attend and work with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for three years. By May of 2021, Emerson will have worked on over 50 productions independently as a freelancer and is graduating from Columbia College Chicago. He has won the L'Oreal Brandstorm Contest 2021 in the US and sets his heights to win more awards.
Hyperphantasia is an idea I have been wanting to bring to the screen for a very long time. I wrote, directed, and produced this film with the help of some fantastic filmmakers from Chicago. All of which I have worked with in the past in school or professional filmmaking work. I got the idea to participate in this contest when I was working as a PA for a feature film. A lot of the crew had been working with me on that project and we wanted to make something that we all felt was fun and that we all can call the shots the way we wanted.
