Hyperdrive is an up and coming film festival that takes place in Hailsham Pavillion. The cinema is a delight - with wonderful theatre style seats (better than the West End) and it was a pleasure to see the red curtains come apart. The quality of the screenings is excellent - all technical aspects run smoothly and brilliantly.

Hyperdrive is still growing - audience varied in size from scant to around 40-50 people. The bloc my film screened in was well attended and I had a good Q&A session afterwards.

The curation was excellent - there were some good choices I had seen at festivals in LA and Miami and that have been tearing up the circuit globally. However, there were also some lesser exposed works which were brilliant. The programmers have excellent taste. The fantasy side of the curation, in particular, held up very well and there were some very good SciFi efforts on display.

The Networking was good with producers in attendance and genuine genre fans and film fans. This event has a local flavour which is also excellent.

The organisers deserve respect for bringing something of this scale to a tiny town - in effect giving their community a global selection of work - and more marketing would benefit not just the filmmakers but the local people and beyond who would seriously enjoy this event if they sampled it.

Still growing, huge potential, and a big thanks to Tim and the team for making this possible.

We also won best - director and the judging was well balanced and showed taste.

    See you again guys!

I attended the 2016 Hyperdrive Film Festival with my short film, and it was a superb experience.
Tim, the manager, is a great guy who really cares about the films and the filmmakers. He organized an amazing 2-day festival, with lots of good films and great atmosphere in lovely Hailsham. The trophies are great and I got to meet really interesting filmmakers.
I really recommend this festival! Submit, attend and enjoy!

We attended Hyperdrive Film Festival last weekend. For us it was a fantastic place to have our film screened. They made us feel incredibly welcome, including us in a long Q&A with an incredibly responsive audience.
Tim from Hyperdrive was very responsive with emails and you really can't ask for someone better to be running a festival like this. His passion and support for the films that he's screening is so visable upon meeting him. I'm sure Tim & his team will continue to grow Hyperdrive to become an incredibly successful film festival.

For an indie film festival we really couldn't ask for much more. The only reason for the 3* hospitality was due to the festival not being able to put anyone up for the night... but to be honest, this is very normal for all independent film festivals! And they do put on an awards breakfast on the sunday to make up for this...

Would strongly suggest submitting to Hyperdrive.

Thanks so much for your review Connor. We are looking in to options for putting Filmmakers up in future festivals. We've been speaking to local hotels but haven't had any luck yet. It was great meeting you and we look forward to seeing you at future Hyperdrive festivals.
