Husek
The way in which the territory is inhabited by the indigenous cultures of the Gran Chaco generates community movements close to the forest and the river, sources of life. The government is planning a new territorial order with popular houses and the displacement of wichí families to the new urban periphery.
Ana is the architect in charge of the project. Valentino is the chief of his community and with his grandson Leonel they will try to mediate what they consider to be a new cultural outrage.

Daniela Seggiaro was born in northern Argentina. She studied film at the University of Buenos Aires, and since then has been working on projects that bring her closer to the indigenous world, documentation, film experimentation and collaborations
with other artistic languages. Her first fiction feature film Nosilatiaj. Beauty opened at the Berlinale and follows a long path with international and local recognition. Husek, her second fiction film, delves into a task of filmmaking work in conjunction with lots of members of wichí communities.
Now, she is carrying out her documentary essay project Senda India / Our demand (FID Lab 2020).
FILMOGRAPHY
2012 – Nosilatiaj. La belleza – feature
2021 – Husek - feature
Husek makes part of the work initiated in my first feature film BEAUTY: fiction stories that oscilate among Western and indigenous culture. This time not inscribed in the intimacy of a family, but along a web of groups related to the professional/political class on one hand and the Wichí community on the other; this film proposes to create a new point of listening and enunciation for indigenous language and thinking in the contemporary world.
HUSEK was concocted from rests of a long conversation that borders between the Spanish and Wichí Lhämtès languages. The writing work was shared with Osvaldo Villagra who, from his knowledge and experience as part of a Wichí community, contributed to build a multiple story, with a space to incorporate indigenous elements not only as representation, but also as a point of view on things. The film travels territories of marked spaces, broken dialogues, wounds that Western apathy is leaving on the landscape and the life of the people who inhabits it.
Through HUSEK's fictional story, the uncertainty of Ana (Vero Gerez) and the resistances of the Wichí people slip by, next to their nyat Valentino (Juan Rivero) and his grandson Leonel (Leonel Gutiérrez). The work with the actors asks for realism, but the multiplicity of the worlds evoked makes us wonder what is real. HUSEK is formed from dissimile forms of telling our stories, parallel thinking and language, porosities.
The shooting of HUSEK was possible thanks to a great intercultural team, and especially thanks to the support and work of the communities leaders like our dear bilingual teacher Juan Rivero, who this time was involved from the experience of playing one of the star roles of the film, and chief Valentino Dias, who guided us through the woods to tell us the story of an ancient fort and a historical conflict which sets the story running. This work is dedicated to them, to all those Wichí key people, male and female, that were gone on the first year of the pandemic. To their memory.
