Director Statement

“Hungry Dogs” is a crime and dramatic short film.
The main artistic references are the feature films "Cani arrabbiati" (1974), directed by Mario Bava, and "Buongiorno, notte" (2003), directed by Marco Bellocchio, without forgetting the (constant and overall) influence of Fernando Di Leo's noir filmography.
The style and atmosphere of "Hungry Dogs" fully reflect those of the director's previous works, with some interesting innovations, also in homage to the directorial, photographic and musical techniques of the Italian "polizieschi" and "gialli" features made during the '70s.
