Experiencing Interruptions?

Hunger

"Hunger" highlights the idiosyncrasy between urbanization and nature. It takes the voice of nature unbound as a response to irresponsible human development and wastefulness. It begs the question of when is the mass consumption of natural resources too much that we cannot go back. Inevitably, we will doom ourselves and the changes to climate and the natural world we enforce through globalization and industrialization will be our own destruction.

As the former lead vocalist of the Chicago electronic rock group, Room 101, Jason Peercy began performing in second grade at school talent shows. Jason has always had a love of performance and music. Singing for his middle school choir, he won accolades in his choral competitions, but did not feel satisfied with this venue and moved on to musical theater. Though he learned much from this experience, it also did not fulfill him. He sought to perform original work on stage with blaring guitars in steamy clubs before throngs of rock fans.

While studying acting at Purdue University he began the band 3rd Estate with Doug Jones and other like-minded individuals. Winning the local battle of the bands the group moved to Indianapolis where they played the Emerson theater regularly and became a staple of rock and roll in central Indiana. Desiring to reach a larger audience and improve his craft he moved to Chicago in 2004 where he formed Room 101 with his long time collaborator, Doug Jones. In Chicago Room 101 became a well known underground force playing Martyr’s, Double Door, Subterranean, Cobra Lounge, and even made it to the stages of Summerfest in Milwaukee. Shortly after Room 101 ended their tenure.

Jason spent time singing with other acts afterwards under the moniker of Synthas and working as a vocal instructor in the Chicago music scene. In 2015 he returned home to Indianapolis where he began his musical career with the group 3rd Estate in 2001. Since he has produced music for podcasts and has branched into filmmaking and game design. Returning to music as Synthas, Jason breaks out on his own with haunting melodies and a striking electronic rock style.

Guillaume Boutenet.
Guillaume films stories he wishes to watch on screen, implying his surroundings and natural interactions. He seeks to create souvenirs of memory by doing this. In movies, he likes the charm of amateur actors, stories involving the perspectives of children, and pieces filmed in historical decors. As a fan of Quentin Tarantino movies he loves the emotion created between the music and the action on camera, including dialogue and cinematography. Guillaume seeks to apply this to his own movies.

Jason Peercy
Synthas confronts the horrors of existence through music, art, and film to arrive at a profound place of self-discovery and awareness. Synthas is a blend of organic and artificial, analog and digital, comprising the electronic thump of industrial, the retro splice of synth wave, and the rebelliousness of rock and roll to create an immersive soundscape of music with vocals laced by seduction and sedition.
