Humanity - The Hume Diversity Short Film Festival is a new competition on the lookout for short films focusing on the positive impact Hume's diversity makes on the community.
OPEN TO ANYONE WHO LIVES, WORKS, STUDIES OR PLAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF HUME IN THE AUSTRALIAN STATE OF VICTORIA, Humanity aims to provide a creative platform for local filmmakers to share positive stories of social inclusion and diversity within the area.
An initiative of Dianella's Population Health Program, the competition seeks to encourage people from all walks of life and backgrounds to celebrate the common humanity that makes Hume a strong, enriching and dynamic community. We want to see that projected onto the big (and small) screen. Drama, comedy, documentary; even animation - all genres are encouraged as long as they reflect the diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical ability, culture and religious belief within Hume.
All films meeting the submission criteria will be shared online, with shortlisted movies screening in competition on 21 March 2018. Prizes will be awarded to help support the participants further develop their creative skills.
