Experiencing Interruptions?

Human Rights Should Be For Everybody

“It is my human right to decide” says Teresa Pocock who has Down syndrome. In 2013 she lost her right to self-determination and was forced into a long-term care institution. Fortunately with the help of her father and sister, she won her freedom. In this 2014 video she demanded an apology. Over 26,000 people signed her petition and in 2016 the Ontario government apologized. Today, five years later, she is continuing to live and thrive in the community.
