Director Biography - Kristine Munk Bidstrup

Kristine was born in 1998 and grew up in North Zealand, Denmark. During her childhood, she was an actress at the local theater, where she later transitioned to script writer and director. However, in recent years, she has moved her work from the stage towards the screen. Kristine is particularly interested in the study of humans and their relationship dynamics, especially the psychology behind their actions. She plays with social boundaries and examines the - often unspoken - rules of society. She strives to create intimate dramas with "real" people.

Director Statement

I wanted to create a realistic portrait of six young adults, who despite being legal of age, are driven by their childish and selfish behaviour. The short film Human Children is inspired by Dogme95 and my love of theatre. I wished to create a coming-of-age piece that explored individuals in a group dynamic. It was written and produced to be a multi-narrative film, which gave us the opportunity to create six versions of the film. Every character could be the maincharacter as they all bring their own personal dilemmas to the party, which force them to make irreversible choices that show their true colors.
