Hope and Tragedy are both truly horrific in nature.
My name is Hrachya Tokmajyan, I am an Armenian Canadian Writer and Director who tells stories of interpersonal and sociocultural struggle through the language of folktales and mythology. I believe that folktales and mythology have had and will continue to have a hand in shaping the future of humanity, our values of morality, relationships, and our collective subconscious. I take inspiration from soviet era arthouse films and contemporary elevated folk horror to craft stories that represent Armenian myths and folktales close to my heart.
I have written, directed, and produced multiple folktale like short films in the past, I am in development of my first feature length film, an Armenian Folk Horror project set to shoot in fall of 2025.
