Teenage Del feels as though she has nothing and no one. Watching friends go back to having fun while she remains inside to keep her sickly mother safe leaves Del in a deep state of loneliness. Everyday is a chore: take care of her mom, pine over Lola, (her classmate and unrequited love who doesn't even know she exists), do her homework, repeat. Everything seems bleak, until one day, Del clicks on a mysterious advertisement for the "Oli Companion."
