How To Care For.....

There is a closed terrarium that houses a little boy, taken care of by a giant hand. The hand always brings toys to the boy to make him happy. However, the boy quickly tires of everything he is brought.

One day, the boy sees a small ladybug, a frog, and a bird – live animals that he’s never seen before. He is fascinated and slowly develops companionship with the creatures, which grows into an interest in life outside of the terrarium.

However, the hand is not happy. It is afraid of losing the boy. To stop him from leaving, the hand takes the terrarium to a dark cabinet that nobody can access.

This triggers the boy into becoming distraught and makes him slowly despair…

Director Biography - Damin Kang

The film ‘How to Care for..’ is about parents who show the wrong sort of love to their children.

Regardless of East or West, a parent will always attempt to show their love for their child through their effort and devotion. However, excessive love and protection, to the point of being overbearing, will have a negative impact on a child's growth.

While we don't aim to say that loving itself is inherently wrong, we do want to convey that when someone wishes to love and protect their precious person, they should re-examine the way they show it so that they’re not inadvertently causing hurt.
