Director Statement

How I Ended Up Dead is a story of first love in unusual circumstances. Bradley couldn’t be happier when he finally got the courage to ask his childhood crush Samantha out and she said yes. But soon after, Bradley suddenly breaks off all contact with her. Samantha confronts him about it and learns that their relationship has an expiration date before it even really began. The two teens have to learn how to navigate between love and the inevitable.

The reason I wanted to bring this script to life is because of the message it carries. The message is that if you want to do something, do not let fear get in the way. Even though I feel like you hear this often, people tend to forget about it, including myself. When faced with his own mortality, Bradley chooses love over fear. I find that it’s a beautiful, and an incredibly brave decision to make and I admire him for that.
