Hortense
A short, animated film based on the real life of seventeenth-century adventuress Hortense Mancini. Hortense was the mistress of two kings, infamous throughout Europe during her lifetime. But how did her story begin? Hortense was brought to Louis XIV's court as a child and was married off to an aristocrat. When he turned out to be an abusive religious fanatic, she scandalized Europe by leaving him and writing a memoir. This is the story of her marriage and her flight in her own words.
