Jennifer Rebollo is a first generation student coming from an immigrant household who enjoys directing, writing and editing films. Pulling inspiration from her mexican culture and the horror genre, she has completed a wide range of films including, documentaries, experimental and narratives.
In "Ojala", translated as hopefully, I explore three different themes. "Paint me" is where I allow myself to re-explore the different versions of me over time. In "Muertita" I expand on the comfort and celebration of death that my Mexican culture embraces. Lastly, "Women Shouldn't Speak" is a response to an unpleasant experience of being barked at and catcalled by men.
